Frowning, squinting, smiling, and other repetitive motions of facial muscles lead to wrinkles and lines on the face and neck that get worse as we age. Wrinkle relaxers, or neurotoxins, such as Botox®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® are injectable treatments that temporarily reduce the appearance of forehead wrinkles, crows feet, frown lines, lip lines, and neck bands. Dr. Nabatian administers precise injections into the areas selected for treatment so that the wrinkles improve while you still maintain your normal appearance and ability to show emotion.  

Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® can also be used to lift the tip of the nose, reduce a gummy smile, create a subtle increase in lip volume, smooth the chin, slim the face in individuals who grind their teeth, and treat excessive sweating of the underarms, palms and soles.

As we age, the natural volume and elasticity of our youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and folds settle in. Fillers are used to enhance your natural appearance and restore your skin’s volume and smooth away deep lines and facial creases, revealing a more youthful appearance. Fillers are injected into the lines, folds and tissues of the face and body to decrease the appearance of wrinkles and hollowness and restore the fullness that decreases with age.  

Areas that Dr. Nabatian treats with fillers include smile lines (nasolabial folds), frown lines, tear troughs (dark under eye circles), cheeks, hollow temples, thin lips, lines around the lips, jawline, chin augmentation, neck lines, and the back of the hands. Dr. Nabatian uses a variety of different fillers including Juvéderm® and Restylane® and Belotero® which are composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in skin. 

Dr. Nabatian also uses biostimulatory fillers including Radiesse®, which is made of calcium hydroxyapatite, which is similar in composition to bone, and Sculptra®, which contains Poly-L-lactic acid. Both Radiesse® and Sculptra® stimulate collagen production. Although dermal fillers are highly effective, they get absorbed by the body over time and additional treatment and injections may be required to maintain the desired effect.

Kybella® is an FDA-approved injection that can be used to permanently reduce excess fat under the chin, commonly known as a “double chin.”  Kybella® contains deoxycholic acid, a substance found in the body that breaks down dietary fats. Kybella can also be used for fat reduction in other small fatty bulges on the body. A topical numbing cream is applied, and injection sites are marked in a grid pattern before treatment. Injections are administered in specific sites in the fatty area that is being treated. You will need a series of treatments spaced about one month apart.
